We arrived at Kirtlington on Friday evening and, after pitching our tents,
made our way to the pub for food, drink and company.
Saturday morning started gently, meeting outside the pub (closed!) to begin
a procession round the village with Kirtlington Morris and Rumworth Morris.
The procession finished at the pub (now fortunately open) where we had a
quick drink before boarding our coach to Blenheim Palace.
At Blenheim Palace we danced for a while, before walking through the park
to Woodstock (and lunch !). On the way, we were inveigled into dancing
the Rose for a woman who was partaking of her "Hen Picnic" ...
After a pleasing lunch (and several pints of Hook Norton), we danced in
Woodstock for a while, before heading back to Kirtlington for a brief rest
before the Lamb Roast and then an excellent ceilidh with Whapweasel. The
evening concluded with a tasting of LiDL's finest whisky ...
On Sunday we danced with 16 (?) other sides, initially in a couple of processions
through the village (it was rather hot !), and then in rotation at 4 separate
stands - managing a couple of pints in amongst it all. Most jolly.
